Back Zoo Nature Parrots palm nut oil extract - 500ml. Complementary feed for parrots. Not suitable for species that can only consume few fats, such as the Rosé cockatoo. Palm nuts are an important part of the natural diet of, among others, the gray red-tailed parrot and various types of macaws. Palm nut oil is extracted from the fruit of the oil palm and is naturally reddish in color due to its high content of beta-carotene. The Back Zoo Nature palm oil is cold pressed, filtered and unrefined. This palm oil is rich in vitamins E and A, antioxidants and unsaturated fatty acids (Omega 3 and Omega 6). Palm oil helps with better feathering and color. In nature, some species eat up to 80% of their daily diet on palm nuts. Birds that do not live in the wild need less energy, which is why palm oil should be given limited. Depending on the species and size of your parrot, you can give about 1/4 teaspoon per day. Palm oil can be mixed into the feed, or smeared on a snack. Palm oil is also widely used in combination with hand food (powder) to make balls and give them to your bird. In weaker or breeding birds, you can double the amount of palm oil per day, for more energy. Make sure your bird gets enough exercise and keeps a good weight, if in doubt consult a bird doctor.
